Mount Yaedake

Mount Yaedake, also known as Mount Yae, is the tallest mountain on the Motobu Peninsula of Okinawa. This mountain offers an abundance of vistas and rolling hills. Once used as a major defense position during the battle of Okinawa, Mount Yae today is most famous during Sakura Matsuri. Okinawa sees its first Sakura of the season (Cherry Blossoms) at Mt. Yae. Blooming trees line the winding road up the mountain, giving a beautiful scenery for family, maternity, or pre-wedding photoshoots. Okinawa’s Cherry Blossom Season is from late February through early April.
